Billingham Town Crier

OYEZ, OYEZ , OYEZ!

Hello and welcome to my blog where I share with you my experiences as Billingham’s first ever Town Crier.

Being the Town Crier has already added such value to my life, and I love having the opportunity to share my experiences and insights with anyone who has the time to listen!

About Me

tc5.jpg

Hello, my name is Joe and I have been appointed by Billingham Town Council as the town's first Town Crier.

I am an ex military man having served with the British Army for a long time, serving mostly in the Royal Artillery and latterly with the Adjutant General's Corps.

I currently work as a facilities manager in Billingham and in my spare time I am a member of the local Royal British Legion Branch as well as the local Poppy Appeal Organiser.

I am also volunteer with the RSPB at Saltholme where I work as a hide guide, helping people to recognise what birds they are looking at.

When I get time, my hobbies are ornithology, photography and watching my favourite football team, Middlesbrough FC.

I am a member of The Ancient and Honourable Guild of Town Criers.
